Dallas,
TX - The National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (www.napfa.org) recognized long-time member, Sheryl Garrett, at their national conference in Dallas in May. The award commemorates a cumulative, significant contribution to the advancement of the practice of Fee-Only financial planning and advising.
Significance is measured by a positive impact on practitioners, consumers, and the profession as a whole.
A CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER(TM) professional, Garrett served on NAPFA's national board from 2000 to 2002. Her efforts to bring competent, objective financial planning and advice to all Americans, not just the wealthy, were hailed by chairman of the board, Peggy Cabaniss. The founder of The Garrett Planning Network, Inc., an international affiliation of independent, fee-only financial planners who are dedicated to serving people from all walks of life, Garrett has been hailed by numerous other industry organizations and was recented named to Investment Advisor magazine's "Top 25 Most Influential People in Financial Planning" for the 4th consecutive year.
Members of the Garrett Planning Network do not impose high account minimums or long-term contacts (as is the norm for most wealth managers and professional financial planners). Instead, services are rendered on an hourly, as-needed or per-project basis. While the network is known for providing independent, objective, commission-free advice on a one-time or as-needed basis, some members also offer retainer-based financial planning and asset management services.
