Manchester, NH – Sherrill St. Germain, founder
and principal of New Means Financial Planning of Hollis,
volunteered to be an official at the New Hampshire
state LifeSmarts championship this past Monday. Coordinated
by NH Jump$tart
Coalition, LifeSmarts is a game-show-like
competition designed to make it fun for high schoolers
to learn about crucial “real life” topics
such as Personal Finance, Health and Safety, Environment,
Technology, and Consumer Rights and Responsibilities.
Ms. St. Germain acted as Team Liaison for the Sullivan
County 4-H Club team, which ultimately won the competition
and a trip to San Francisco to participate in the national
championship in April. She commented, “It was
just great fun for everyone involved: students, teachers,
and officials. The knowledge that these kids gained
through preparing for this competition was impressive,
never mind the poise they showed in the heat of competition.” Ms.
St. Germain is a member of the NH Jump$tart Fundraising
Committee.
