Nashua, NH – Sherrill St. Germain, MBA, owner
of New Means Financial Planning, Hollis, NH, and Lisa
Allen, owner of The Daily Count, Nashua, NH, and author
of the cookbook Eating
Clean, were interviewed by Linda
Kaiser, host of WYCN TV-13’s “Spotlight
on Business.” The subject of the interview was
the New Girl
Network, a southern NH-based women entrepreneurs’ networking
group founded by the two women in October 2001.
After
meeting at a Small Business Development Center seminar,
Ms. St. Germain and Ms. Allen agreed that there seemed
to be a lack of opportunities for local women business
owners to meet and discuss their business challenges
and successes in an informal, relaxed setting, and
they decided to fill that need by launching the New
Girl Network. The network welcomes women entrepreneurs
at all stages of business development to join them
to share ideas, inspiration, and support at its once-monthly
lunch meetings, held the first Thursday of every month
at The Daily Count, a specialty food shop located at
1 Water Street, Nashua. Since its founding, more than
40 women from a wide variety of backgrounds and industries
have participated, and the network continues to enjoy
steady growth as word of its unique benefits gets out.
This “Spotlight on Business” program was
one in a series of interviews with local business owners
of interest. The station reaches over 300,000 viewers
in Nashua and southern New Hampshire. Click to watch the video!
