August 23, 2004 – New Means founder to present seminar, Saving for College, at Hollis Social Library on October 13th, 2004

College costs a concern? With costs at both public and private institutions far outpacing inflation, paying for college is likely to be one of the biggest financial challenges your family will face.

Join us from 7:00 - 8:30 on Wednesday, October 13th, 2004, at the Hollis Social Library for "Saving for College," a FREE seminar which will address:

» why it's never too early to get started planning for college,

» what to expect for costs by the time your child enrolls,

» the guidelines by which financial aid awards are determined,

» the pros and cons of various investment and savings plans, and

» how to balance saving for college with your other financial goals.

The seminar will be presented by Sherrill St. Germain, founder of New Means Financial Planning of Hollis, a fee-only firm offering financial advice on an hourly, as-needed basis. Sherrill is also a contributor to the recently released book Just Give Me the Answer$: Expert Advisors Address Your Most Pressing Financial Questions, a compilation of 134 personal financial planning tips written by Sheryl Garrett, CFP®, founder of the Garrett Planning Network, with Marie Swift & members of the network.

Just Give Me the Answer$ is available for loan from the library. A limited number of copies will be available for purchase at a reduced price at the seminar.
