August 24, 2007 - Workshop Helps Women Overcome Money Fears and Earn More

To Celebrate the Paperback Release of her Nationally Acclaimed Book Overcoming Underearning®, Women and Money Expert Barbara Stanny Brings Powerful Overcoming Underearning® Workshop to Nashua on October 1 and 2.

Nashua, NH - Is it so hard for you to ask your boss for a raise that you don't do it? Do you often give away your services and work more hours than you are paid? Are you in debt with little savings? Do you have a family history of debt or underearning? Do you dislike money or people who have it? If so, you are most likely an underearner.

The nationally acclaimed 1 1/2 day workshop Overcoming Underearning® will take place on Monday evening, October 1 from 5 - 9PM, and Tuesday, October 2, from 9AM to 5PM at the Holistic Self Care Center, 12 Murphy Drive, Nashua. The workshop addresses both psychological and practical barriers women find in earning their potential.

Based on Stanny's books, Overcoming Underearning® and Secrets of Six Figure Women, this highly interactive workshop will help attendees learn how to:

  • Identify the five simple steps to increase your income
  • Think bigger about what's possible for your life
  • Understand the signs of underearning
  • Uncover the Big Lie you've been telling yourself
  • Understand the signs of resistance and how to deal with them
  • Tailor a specific action plan to your individual situation

Stanny defines underearners as those who earn less than their potential, despite their need and desire to do otherwise. The workshop is designed to help underearners take control of their money, and in doing so, take control of their lives. The event kicks off National Financial Planning Week, in which independent financial advisors raise awareness of fiscal responsibility nationwide through articles, classes and workshops such as this one.

Past participants have called the workshop "insightful," "inspiring," and "empowering." The early-bird tuition of $315, due on or before September 12, includes beverages, lunch, a workbook, and a free copy of Barbara's book Overcoming Underearning®. After September 12, the cost is $395. In addition, Sherrill St. Germain, MBA, CFP® of New Means Financial Planning will be available to consult with women interested in exploring their specific circumstances. For information or to register, see the workshop flyer (PDF) or visit www.barbarastanny.com.

She is a proponent of women doing both the “inner work” (psychological) as well as the more practical “outer work” of financial planning. Barbara grew up relying on her father (the R of H&R Block), then her husband to manage her money. A devastating financial crisis became a personal wake-up call and the start of her journey to help all women over a decade ago..
