NH - Sherrill St. Germain, MBA, CFP®, Principal of Hollis-based New Means Financial Planning, recently returned from Kansas City, MO, where she participated on the closing-day keynote "Success Panel" at the sixth annual conference held by the Garrett Planning Network. An international group of over 200 financial planners and special guests listened as St. Germain and five other panelists shared the strategies that have helped them build successful, independent financial advisory businesses.
During the four day conference, Ms. St. Germain had a full slate of educational programs that addressed new tax law and regulatory compliance changes, retirement and college saving planning, behavioral finance, demographic trends, working with the media, reverse mortgages, asset allocation, investment selection, risk management, and financial planning tools. Sarah Teslik, CEO of the CFP Board of Standards, was the opening day keynote speaker. Ms. Teslik provided comments on the state of the industry and gave opinions on how consumer perceptions and needs are changing the way financial advice is and will be provided.
